HiddenHoard is a stand alone boxed game for up to six players, but it is not just a family game, it is a real time treasure hunt.

How did this game/treasure hunt come about?

In 1982 the author of this work was pipped to the post in the country wide search for the Golden Hare 0f ‘Masquerade’, arriving at the location a few days following its discovery. Disappointed by this result and the end of several years of searching the author of this work decided to hide his own treasure of increasing value and create a new treasure hunt. There have been similar treasure hunts over the years such as the Cadbury Egg Hunt, La Choutte d’Or, The Beale Ciphers, A Treasure’s Trove, In Search of the Golden Horse and so on … more recently the craze of Geocaching and the Forrest Fenn hidden gold in America have encouraged hunters to search for buried treasure.

The Hidden Hoard Board Game contains an elaborate game board which doubles as a treasure map. There are fourteen places shown on the treasure map. The author visited the places over a period of several years and carefully painted in oil on canvas a representation of what he saw.

The Places are:

Castle

Cathedral

Folly

Cottage

Hall

House

Lighthouse

Ruins

Abbey

Memorial

Windmill

Church

Stone

Clock

The game board is a treasure map containing not only the painted places, but also many puzzles. Most of the clues, codes and cyphers were developed over thirty five years ago, but the treasure map was incomplete. In 2013 the author finally had the time and investment to complete the work, so now, after five years of development and play testing, he has released the treasure hunt and game to the general public.

HiddenHoard was made available on May the first 2018.
